Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house by using a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family cash flow will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan nsfas application Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a general public my nsfas university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges nsfas status should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
