The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house which has a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post 2025 nsfas application any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
